Start with the awarding body
Write down the exact qualification title and the organisation that issues it. A teaching centre, academic partner and awarding body can be different organisations, so each role should be clear.
Match recognition to the exact programme
A provider may offer several awards through different routes. A university relationship, quality standard or institutional approval does not automatically give every programme the same recognition.
- Exact award title
- Awarding organisation
- Programme or intake
- Recognition body and scope
- Current supporting document
Understand UGC wording
Ask whether the claim concerns a Sri Lankan degree-awarding institution, a foreign university recognised for a specific purpose, or progression to a university programme. Keep the answer and evidence in writing.
Check acceptance with the receiver
For employment, migration, licensing, credit transfer or further study, the receiving organisation makes the decision. Contact it directly with the exact award details before enrolling.
Treat logos as a starting point
A logo can identify a relationship, standard or service, but it does not explain scope or validity. Use the provider's official evidence page, programme documents and the third party's own register where available.
