A foundation diploma introduces the discipline
A responsible psychology diploma should cover major perspectives, development, cognition, social behaviour, individual differences, research and ethics. It can help you test your interest and strengthen people-focused work.
It does not create a clinical licence
A short diploma alone does not qualify someone to diagnose, provide therapy or present themselves as a psychologist. Professional routes require further recognised education, supervised practice and any requirements that apply to the intended role.
Research skills matter
Psychology is evidence-based. Look for a course that teaches how studies are designed, how claims are evaluated and how participant wellbeing and privacy are protected.
Plan backwards from your intended role
If you want to work in clinical, counselling, educational, organisational or research settings, ask the relevant higher-education provider or professional body about the complete pathway before enrolling.
